Air pollution
Waste as a resource
Our double materiality assessment has brought to
light that we have not sufficiently considered air
pollution beyond CO2e in our previous sustainability efforts. Even though we have consistently
focused on reducing NOx particles, we have
lacked a specific policy or structured measurements for this area. Consequently, in 2024, we
implemented a policy for reducing air pollution,
and in 2025, we will determine specific target
figures for Frode Laursen’s particulate pollution.
This is a complex area, but we have incorporated
it into our ‘Green Warehouse Vision II,’ which forms
the basis for our latest construction projects in
Vejle and Östra Ljungby.
Frode Laursen’s logistics centres generate large
quantities of plastic and cardboard waste in particular, making effective recycling a key focus area.
We systematically sort our waste at all our logistics
centres and are constantly working to improve
our waste sorting and recycling processes.
Our goal is clear: all waste should be recycled.
In 2024, we produced 6,088 tonnes of waste,
of which 81% was recycled, 15% was sent for
incineration and only 4% was neither recycled nor
incinerated. This means that in 2024, another 6%
of our waste was recycled rather than incinerated,
bringing us closer to our goal of recycling all waste.

Much less plastic
At Frode Laursen, we aim to use as little plastic as
possible. In 2024, we replaced all our 15-micron
(hand) stretch wrap with a thinner 8-micron product. This yielded a saving of 12%. At the same time,
we optimised the use of machine stretch wrap,
which saw a reduction of 7% in consumption. In
total, these initiatives led to a saving of 12,963 kg
of stretch wrap.
